This week definitely threw me for a loop! We all had the day off on Monday but were surprised when our school district and Texas A&M sent texts notifying us that schools would be closed due to Winter Weather on Tuesday. Granted, it was 64 degrees when the texts were sent but the kids were hopeful that we would get snow. Sadly, the only thing we got was the thinnest layer of ice and a few centimeter long icicles! But, we took complete advantage of a day at home and stayed in our pj’s most of the day!
I feel like I’ve been playing catch up the rest of the week but there have definitely been a few favorite moments!
ONE | Grace, Not Perfection by Emily Ley
I’m not a big reader (unless starting and not finishing books counts!) but I’m super happy to say that I’m almost through Emily Ley’s book Grace, Not Perfection. It’s an easy read that feels more like you are having a conversation in your living room with your bestie. So many times I’ve felt like she has read my mind – providing understanding and encouragment along with little nibblets of goodness to take to heart!
I knew it was going to be a good read when part one hit very close to home!
TWO | Perler Beads for the win!
With the extra long weekend, the girls spent lots and lots and LOTS of times crafting with Perler beads. I fought the urge to clean them up (see above!) and left them out all weekend. The girls would wander off and then come back and make another creation. They had so much fun!
THREE | organization
The start of a new year always gives me the push I need to purge all the things! For the past couple of weeks, I’ve joined Jaclyn, Keri, and Kate for their Clear the Clutter Challenge. I was so surprised and honored earlier this week when they featured my Kitchen Organization post! Thanks, girls!
This week I shared my Closet Purge and I also found Holden the perfect way to organize her jewelry!
I had been searching for months for the perfect way to help Holden organize her jewelry. These two pieces have fit her needs and I’ve noticed her wearing lots of jewelry that she hasn’t worn in a while. I’m confident it’s because she can now see what she has!
FOUR | The Greatest Movie!
Over the weekend I took the girls and a couple of friends to see The Greatest Showman. There aren’t enough words for me to tell you how amazing this movie is! If you love musicals, don’t miss this movie! We are going to try and see it again this weekend!!!
The soundtrack has been on repeat since we walked out of the theater!!!
FIVE | new drivers
It’s so weird for me to list this as a favorite since I’ve had mixed feelings, but Colby is now a licensed driver!!! Why mixed feelings? I think it’s awesome that he can now help and reduce the number of trips that Mike and I have to make into town but we live in a college town with terrible drivers and adding my flesh and blood to that mix freaks me out a little!
In true Colby fashion, his very first solo trip was to pick up Hope at Kids Klub and his second trip was to Holden’s basketball game. I’m thinking this might be a bond builder for those two! Fingers crossed!
Were you snowed in this week? If so, I hope you can dig out and enjoy a great weekend!
We only have a few things on the agenda for this weekend and I’m looking forward to working on a few more areas to organize. What do you have to look forward to?
