Happy first Friday of 2018!!! The kids are out of school till Monday and we are soaking up every last bit of Christmas break! Our tree might still be up and we might still have a suitcase or two to unload from our trip but we aren’t going to stress about it (until at least Sunday night!). 🙂
Here are a few of my favorites from this past week…
Instagram Best Nine
I love a good collage and when the powers that be want to create a best nine of our year, I let them! Some of my favorite memories from 2017 were Thanksgiving, Hope donating over 10 inches of her hair, Colby literally outgrowing our photos, celebrating our 20th anniversary, family baptisms, the first day of school, Aggie Football, Luckenbach, and Colby turning 16. What a year!
Road Trips are my FAVORITE!
10 days, 7 states, and over 3,100 miles driven. Earlier this week I shared the first installment of our Christmas road trip to Charlotte, NC. I’ll share the rest of our trip soon!
Brand New Starts
So much possibility with the start of a new year! Let’s make this one a good one!
Happy Zoo Year!!! We celebrated my birthday at the New Orleans Zoo and other than the freezing temp and light drizzle, we had an absolute blast!
What’s better than a day spent at the zoo with your people? Someone walking up to you and giving you four free tickets to the zoo!!! No kidding – I couldn’t believe it! When I told her that it was my birthday, she had tears in her eyes and said, “I knew I had to give them to you.” Isn’t that awesome?! This sweet lady made.my.day!
Impromptu New Year’s Eve Celebrations
Midnight on New Year’s Eve was quickly approaching but we weren’t going to make it home in time to see the ball drop. Our friends that live outside of Houston texted me Happy Birthday and when I told them we were passing by, they told us to stop. We made it to their house with 6 minutes to spare, were able to watch the ball drop and have a toast to the new year! We finally made it home a little after 2:00 am but it was totally worth it!
I’ve had my letterboard for almost a year now and am loving it more than ever! If anyone has any good storage ideas for all those tiny letters, please share!
One Little Word
For the past few years, I have chosen one word that I thought would define my year versus setting resolutions. This one little word has kept me focused and served as a reminder when I started to doubt myself. Be sure and check out my one little word for 2018 here.
I know it’s only been a couple of days but it’s been a good one so far! Here’s wishing you a blessed 2018 full of crazy, chaotic, and fun memories!
What’s been your favorite moment of the week?
