Earlier this week I shared a January Q & A post but since I have new readers, I thought I would take this chance to share with you 10 random facts to help you get to know me better. These types of posts are some of my favorites to read from other bloggers – it’s an inside look at the person behind the blog!
In no particular order…
I’m named Holly because I was due on Christmas day – I wasn’t born till December 31st (and I’ve been running late ever since!).
Colby is somewhat named after the Colby on Survivor 2 (Mike hates when I tell this story!). We watched the show while I was pregnant and I convinced myself (and Mike!) that we had to name our son Colby.
Holden is named in part because I wanted her to have an “H” name like mine and partly because I wanted her to have a non-feminine name. Her name had been picked out since I was pregnant with Colby!
Hope’s name is from Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. We had a miscarriage prior to having Hope and at one point we thought we had miscarried Hope too. While we were waiting to confirm if I had miscarried or not, this verse kept running through my head. I knew if she was a girl her name would definitely be Hope!
In case you’re wondering, if she had been a boy, her name would have been Landon!
I get embarrassed extremely easy – as to the point of tears!
While growing up, most vacations were spent in St. Louis, Missouri, watching the Cardinals play baseball. Spring Break meant trips to Florida to watch the Cardinals during Spring Training. We even went to the 1985 World Series when the Cardinals played the Royals. My dad loves the Cardinals!
I love to plan – vacations, birthday parties, events, you name it!
I am deathly afraid of throwing up or having anyone around me throw up. When I hear that “the bug” is going around, I start to panic! I even have prescription anti-nausea medicine that I carry with me wherever I go!
I love having something to look forward to. I always try to have at least one “date” on the calendar in the near future that I’m waiting for!
If we go to dinner and you ask me what I want – 9 times out of 10, I’ll suggest Mexican food!
Today I’m joining Erin for her 10 on the 10th link-up. Before you go, share one random fact about yourself in the comments!
